Superbowl Taco Ring

Superbowl is upon us. This year up your snack game with this taco ring and a fresh salsa or guacamole dip. This is also a great recipe to change it up a little on your taco night or a special get-together.

Serves about 8

Pizza pan wrapped in foil

2 tubes Crescent Rolls
1lb Ground Beef
1/2lb Ground Pork
1 1/2oz Taco Seasoning
3 Garlic Cloves
2 cup Cheddar Cheese

Spray foil-lined pizza pan with cooking spray.

Preheat oven to 375.

Shred cheese.

Peel and mince garlic.

Open crescent tubes and separate into individual triangles.

Arrange each pastry in a circle with the pointed ends out. Overlap each pastry towards the center for a thicker base.

Brown ground beef and pork in a skillet on MED heat until no longer pink.

Add minced garlic halfway through the cooking process to toast the garlic.

Drain fat from your pan.

Add taco seasoning as directed by package, reducing the amount of water used by half.

Cook for an additional 3 minutes then drain any remaining liquid from your pan.

Sprinkle cooked seasoned meat in a circle across the crescent dough.

Sprinkle cheese over the top of the seasoned meat.

Pull the crescent roll tips over the meat and cheese, towards the center and tuck in loosely.

Bake until pastry is golden brown and cheese is melted, about 15 minutes.

After removing the taco ring from the oven, sprinkle any remaining cheese over the top for a little more cheesiness.

Fill the center area of the taco ring with your favorite taco toppings, such as 7-layer dip, guacamole, sour cream, shredded lettuce, etc.

You can replace the ground pork with ground turkey or more ground beef.

Sprinkling a little cooked bacon in with the ground meat mixture never hurt anyone.
